We are approximately seven miles east of Highway 74 and Interstate 95 intersection, two hours south of Raleigh, two hours east of Charlotte and just a little over an hour from several North and South Carolina beaches.

Pembroke is also home of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) which was founded in 1887 by American Indians and was the first-state supported college for American Indians in the nation. As a constituent institution of the 17-member University of North Carolina, UNC Pembroke offers 41 undergraduate programs and 17 graduate programs in the liberal arts, education, business, public administration, and nursing.
